Caring in the Classroom

Facilitating the learning of adult practicing nurses can be both challenging and rewarding.  This is the student population that I am with the most.  How do I enact caring?  I like to think that I enact caring in many ways. 


One of the most important ways for me to demonstrate my caring to students is to let them know that I believe in them and to provide them with opportunities to learn and grow in ways that expand their vision and thinking.  I care enough to believe that they can do it!


Another way that I share caring with my students is to demonstrate through attitude and action that each student's success is important to me.  My goal is ALWAYS to support the student in the successful completion of the learning journey. 


I strive to present myself as a loving coach who encourages and uplifts her students, while at the same time, holding them to a standard of learning and growing that empowers and strengthens them in their resolve to be the best practitioner of the art and science of nursing that they can be!
